I looked away from him, my eyes trying so desperately to find something interesting in the sky to stare at rather than him.

“Um, Calvin?” I asked him, trying to regain my shattered self control.

“Hm?” He questioned back at me, his grey shirt nearly off now.

“Why are you removing your clothes?” I questioned, my eyes now wandering to the pack only to find Dustin was way ahead of Calvin and had already stripped down to his boxers.

“Who cares?”Dustin shouted, trying to remove the rest of his clothing only to find his sister trying to stop him.

I turned back to Calvin again; this boy just never cyst to surprise me. He, unlike the jail bird of a pack member Dustin, had stopped at removing the clothes on his torso and turned to me. His number was printed on his side, standing out from his almost albino toned skin with its pitch black ink, it read:

56081

It was a depressing sign actually; the modern day equivalent of being branded like a slave. He showed it willingly though. I turned back to Dustin. His sister was gathering his clothes back up and forcing him to put them on, piece by piece. He seemed to dread the process but he bore the same mark that Calvin did, just a different number:

60006

He wasn’t focused on the fact that the whole pack could see his number but rather, if the girls would join in. (It was kind of ironic that he got bailed out just hours before now because he was jailed in the first place for Public Nudity.)

I sighed; at this point my control over the pack was too weak for me to do anything. Not just because of their strange display but because of Calvin, doing what he does best, ruining the moment and jumping on stage with me.

“What’s you point to all this Calvin. It best be a good one…”I paused my face contorting to reflect Satan’s hatred, “Because if it isn’t, you’re dead.” I was in no manor joking about this.

He nodded his head. “I understand that you’re a little freaked--”He began, though I interjected before he could finish.

“You think?! I’m not neurotic either; things like this just don’t happen every pack meeting.”He just rolled his eyes, finishing what he said.

“But my reason for it was to show the pack that we all have our numbers; our labels that set us a part from society. With them we are able to ensure that a person is either human or not.”Of course I knew this, I just thought this for Christ sake.

“Get on with it genius.”I complained; he finally got to the point.

“The POINT,” He emphasized the word point, “Is that we have a freaking original unit on the loose with no number and how are we going to tell it apart? Eh? Answer me that riddle?”He had a good point actually; some of the anger faded from my expression.

Everyone stared at him in shock; they must have expected the original unit we were talking about to be dead, and it could be true, but they were just dumbfounded to find out that it could still be alive.

Jenna, an elder to the pack, though still not but twenty seven, fell to the ground; her hands digging into her scalp and pulling her hair. She began trembling. To her this was a nightmare; her family was killed during the war not by themselves but a unit that had an emotional breakdown.

The rampage ended when her father brought out the gun but only afterwards did they find out his number was 88 and he broke down because of the lack of studies going into how the original units would react to being injected with the DNA. And now to find out that the same thing could happen must have landed her in this distraught phase.

Dustin ran to her aide, he was a sweet boy at heart; despite what his record showed. “Jenna” He whispered to her, though quiet enough that it was hard to hear even with my sensitive ears.

“Hmmm?”she questioned him, her eyes still the size of saucers as they buldged from her petite face.

“Its going to be okay. We’re going to find it?”He turned to Calvin as he finished the question. He nodded back. “Yes, we’re going to find it.”He reinsured her and himself.

I was getting a little pissed now because Dustin trusted Calvin with an answer instead of me. Like he could take lead of the pack. I had been their Alpha for three years now and I wasn’t going to give up my spot to this untrustworthy, albino looking, manipulative, piece of crap. No.

I sighed, trying to calm down a little.

“Calvin.”I called to him, pointing to the spot on the stage where he originally jumped onto. He came up, without even thinking, and set himself on the stage beside me once more.

The pack began whispering again. I really hated when they did that. Jenna finally stood back up, though with Dustin’s help as he lifted her gently; they both payed attention to us.

“Yes my little Alpha?”He questioned me, his voice as flirtatious as it was earlier. I couldn’t help but blush, after all he was hot and who was I to resist even the simplest of responses. I blushed a little.

“Um…”I began, stuttering a bit before I toughened up and put on my strength that made me alpha in the first place. “Why do you challenge my leadership?”I questioned him, staring up at him with a serious expression.

“Why so serious?”He retorted, his expression just as serious as mine before be burst out laughing; being serious just wasn’t his thing. Several people did the same as he and began chatting about their favorite movies.

“I’m serious because you’ve broken several morals; you stepped on stage without being invited, you kidnapped the alpha, you began stripping in the middle of a serious pack meeting without my consent.” Though I didn’t mind the view it was still annoying that he didn’t tell me what he was doing first. “And now you’re joking around when I’m trying to lecture you!”

He just smiled his Cheshire grin, his expression deviously delicious. His hands locked behind his bare back, he leaned close to me it was as though he was going to whisper something.

“Well?” I asked him.

“You …”He began his smile finally opening to reveal his grinning canines, “Smell nice.”He finished. I pushed him off the stage, turning away as my palm caught my face; he was horrible and distracting the pack from the matter at hand.

“Out, “I pointed to the park around us. His playful eyes sparkling questionably back at me. Though it was a little shocking, he bowed and spoke.

“What the alpha says, I do; no questions.”He replied, finally straightening up and grabbing his clothes. He didn’t even put them on, he just left.
